The most important thing for a choir to know.
People don't think of charity when they lead music in church. Ask why they help with church music and you might hear, "I love music" "It feels so good to do the music we do" "Everyone loves our music" "I like singing in front of the congregation because I am a natural born leader" "It's not crowded in the choir loft" "The organ is like playing an entire orchestra without the attitude problems" etc.
Musicians need to remember, and be constantly reminded, that their work must be charity. And like all good things, if done for the wrong reason there's less room for charity because its crowded out by selfish, pride, anger, or envy. I don't run into gluttony too much with choir folks. At least no during rehearsal.
